MOP / Parasol unit Research Residency

MOP Foundation, in partnership with Parasol unit foundation for contemporary art, is delighted to offer a unique research-based residency opportunity for emerging and mid-career Iranian artists living and working in Iran. This residency offers one individual the opportunity to focus on the development of their artistic research in London. The successful candidate will be granted a live/work space for a period of 8 weeks at Parasol unit in London’s East End, as well as a return economy flight from Iran.

Various opportunities will be made available for the successful candidate, based on their research, to develop their practice, build connections and collaborate with other arts practitioners and institutions in London. These encounters will culminate in a public round-table discussion/presentation at Parasol unit. This residency does not include an exhibition of works at Parasol unit.

Applicants are required to submit a research proposal (500-1,000 words) stating how they might approach the residency, and what they hope to achieve. The area of research is not prescribed, but the selection panel will be looking for proposals that illustrate a clear ambition and direction for a specific line of research that is related to the artists’ practice.
